I could here a constant beep, like a heartbeat, and only that. I opened my eyes and saw my surroundings.
I was in a tube, a glass tube. I could feel vibrations in the floor. I didn't know what of though, but I did know that they were coming from outside a door. A door that was outside of my container. It approached, then faded.
I also saw in the same room, charts, X-Rays, photos, medical instruments, insects in jars and a few tables and a camera.
I looked at myself. I saw I was quite muscular, but my veins, they didn't seem right. But the thing I most felt and thought about was the hunger I felt.
'I don't want to be in here! I want to be out there!' I thought. My hand clenched into a fist, then I punched through the glass which shattered right in front of me. My fist wasn't injured in any way.
I ripped off the tubes and bondages that held me in place. I stepped out, barefoot onto the broken glass which shattered under my feet, not leaving a mark. I went over and looked at the charts on the wall. They showed an X-Ray of some-one, then the X-Ray of another person. The other person had bones moved around, and an exoskeleton to go with it, but a thin one. I got the horrifying thought that they were both me.
On top of the charts read the name Crystlis. I felt vibrations in the floor again, come towards the door the fade away.
'The door, that leads to outside! That's where I want to be.' I thought.
I headed for the door. I was locked. I pushed a bit and the lock broke, easier than I had first expected. I walked down a hallway, I was heading towards more vibrations in the floor. I came to where there was two ways. The vibrations came from the left. I moved to the right hallway and slid into an open ventilation shaft I saw. I still felt the vibrations in the vent.
A person with a gun walked past. I then jumped down, he seemed half my height. I put my arm around his throat and squeezed. After about a minute, he didn't move. He still had a heartbeat though, so I knew he was alive. I took his gun and read it, there were three different levels: Stun, Kill, Explode.
I set it to stun, and continued down the hall, where there were more guards. I shot them and they fell asleep. There was a large double door. I ran to it and pushed it open. I was outside. I looked around at the surroundings and saw a street. It seemed to be abandoned apart from a few people who were walking down the other side of the street.
I dropped the gun and walked over to them.
"Do... do you know... where I could get some... food?" I asked.
"Hey man! Arn't you a bit cold?" They asked me when they saw what I was wearing.
I looked down and saw a pair of jeans on, and no shirt. "No," I started, "do you know where I can get some food?"
"Yeah..." They said hesitantly, "Next corner, there's a small take-away shop, you gonna be ok?"
"Yea..." I told them, then walked in the direction they showed me.
