For a moment i was was totally shell shocked. I starred at him as the words sunk in.
"Me?" I said eventually. "You... Z... I... friendship, companionship, we've worked lots together, but not..."
"It is more than that." He said simply.
"You sure?" I asked, my voice going a little high.
"I am certain." He replied.
"Oh." I said quietly. "Well... how long... i mean... when did this... erm... happen?"

"yeh." I smiled, "It's probably better that way..." I paused, "Are you sure?"
For the first time ever, incredibly naturally, Zeroc cracked a smile, taking my hand- an extremely... human... gesture.
"I am certain." He repeated.

"Huh?" Maya didn't quite seem to understand.
I tried a more, human approach: "If you feel someone else should know, allow them to. I do not mind."

"I dunno, Z... I... No one else needs to know, do they?" It was strange, this feeling... it wasnt as if i was about to have an affair with Zeroc, but there were things we had ben through together which i did not want to disscuss with Joshua. If he heard that Zeroc had feelings for me, he would ask questions about how there had been opportunity for it to develop... i had never told him about that night when i'd gone into Zeroc's memories, and then had to warn Isis of impending divine war... and somehow i really didnt want to. I didnt know what else to say...

Maya had a worried look on her face, I wondered what she was thinking about. It must be easier for me to keep, calm, as they called it, then it is for her, or many other humans...
"Let this not worry you now, we came to enjoy ourselves, something that I need to learn how to do." I suggested, "possibly I should not have told you while we were here, but could we possibly talk about this at a more appropriate time?"
Maya was about to say something, but I quickly jumped in: "Of course, if you feel we should discuss it now, feel free to do so."

I took him on every ride i remembered from my child hood, none of them as scary as i remembered, but as we relaxed i could have sworn even Zeroc was enjoying it. It seemed incredibly soon that it began to get dark, and the rides started to close. We wandered along the paths in silence, content smiles on both of our lips. what a wierd day...

I decided to keep the smile, as it seemed to keep Maya, somewhat, happier than if I were to show some other facial expression.
I wanted to break the silence... but decided it was best if she did instead... if she willed...

However, The comfortable silence soon slipped into awkwardness- crap. I glanced at him, getting the feeling that the smile was forced,

"The usual." I chuckled. "Constant demon attacks, this bloody old woman sticking her nose in everything... not to mention orestes... and all with the added worry of Aila's safety. Plus... Josh has been sorta distant recently. I think it's really since he came back, yknow, without his powers? He's spent much more time at the college... i dunno..." I shrugged, "It's just a bit wierd. All adds up, yknow?"
