I flew towards him.
He came running towards me, the black straps flying around everywhere.
As he ran, he picked up a crowbar, I could tell that this wasn't going to be normal sibling warfare.

I gambolled around, shook my head and then shifted, becoming an orange cat. The girl giggled.

I never realised how good with Kids Jessy was. I guess being a shifter had it's advantages.
I did a quick check to make sure all the security procedures were in place, locking the building down. I shouldn't have doubted Mal's ability, but I hated being cooped up in here when the fight was out there.
Still, there was an innocent to protect, and whoever that guy was, he wasn't getting passed me.

*Jack*
The guy ran at me and the guy from the shop. "Crowbar?" I asked. "You'll have to do better than that." I shot the hand with the crowbar. He dropped it.

I did a little dance on my toes.

"Ghah! You're gonna pay for that one!" He growled.
One of the straps lashed out and whipped Jack, then another tripped him over.
I came down and created another giant rectangle, which I threw to him.
He dodged it, and jumped on the disk with me, trying to wrestle me off.
*Twaney's POV*
I giggled at the orange cat, or whatever it was... I didn't care. It was funny.
Then came the screech. I blocked my ears and fell to the floor.
It came again. It hurt.

Poor kid. I couldn't hear it but it must be awful. I rubbed myself against her face, muttering soothing words in cat.

I walked into the main room to see the girl curled up in a ball, clutching her ears in agony. Jessy was rubbing up against her face, but it didn't seem to do much good.
I leant down and held the girl gently. Whatever the hell was gong on here, this poor kid was smack in the middle of it.
I looked up, plainly annoyed. "You guys better have a damn good reason for this one."

"Dad," I said, "whatever she's hearing, it must be mentally." I stood up, shifting quickly.

"I know," I whispered. "And there's not a damn thing I can do about it, either. If we knew what it was, maybe. But without that info, all we can do is try and comfort her, help her over this...whatever the hell's going on."

"That's a real shame. Now can I go kill that guy?" I asked venomously.

"Locked down," I said. "And no ones getting in or out until this is over. Boy said to protect the little 'un, and that's what we do."

"Well, I'll see if there's anything about this in my book." I took a book out of a small compartment.

"Meanwhile," I said, rocking the girl gently, "I try to remember how to look after kids younger than ten."

"With one of these," I tossed him my favourite teddy bear, Teddy. "What?" I asked at his look. "I have to be prepared in case I get locked in one of these."
