We floated down to the streets... both standing on the disk I had made. I held Twaney close to me... blocking her ears.
The screech came again and Twaney shuddered.
"Shh, shh... don't think about it..." I whispered.
When we landed, I made the disk disappear and I found a small basement where we crept into, all the time, the screeches coming about every 10 seconds. Twaney shuddering every time.
I quickly put whatever I could find up to block the windows.
"We here?" Twaney asked quietly. Poor girl... she was only ten.
"Yes... we can get some rest now." I said.
"Can you make me blankets?" She asked quietly.
"No... we've had enough of using these powers for one day... I'll find us some... the screeches are gone... try to get some rest." I said.
Twaney was tired... I could see. She nodded and lay down quietly.
I found some blankets and covered her and myslef... then got to sleep.
I awoke the next morning. I looked over to see that Twaney was still asleep.
I got up and snuck out of the basement. We needed food.
It was early morning, so not many people were up... there were a few cars, but most things were calm.
I walked down the street towards the general story.

Street children. THe poeple who need help most and never get it. I looked through a small basement window at a tiny girl, barely ten. As a small kitten I rolled through the window and curled up near her, close enough to touch.

"let's see, bread, milk, mounds of chocolate and coffee..." I listeed as the boy came in. He looked...lost. Kind of dishevelled, and in desperate need of food. "You alright there, kid?" I asked. I need to learn how to say 'no' to people who look like they need my help.
Nah.

I rolled closer, purring. I was a ball of fluff with huge eyes and pointy ears.

I bounced happily over to Doc. "I don't think we need that much softdrink." He said. Looking down at the mountain of coke I was holding. I shrugged. "Okie dokie!" Doc shook his head slowly. "Talk about eager to help."

"Um... hi..." I said hesitantly.
"I... um... am looking for... chips?" I said slowly... not wanting to really talk much.
*Twaney's POV*
I woke up slowly... feeling the little, warm, furry thing near me.
It was a kitten.
"Hello kitty." I said tiredly.

"Chips?" I asked coming back with less coke. "There's lots of chips here. Any flavour?"

"Like hot chips!" I almost yelled from beside Doc.

"Um... no... chips'll be fine." I said hesitantly... grabbing a few packets and waiting and hoping these guys would leave.

"If you need a place to stay," I began, handing him a card. It was one of the buildings i owned, I'd turned it into a shelter about a month ago. "It's empty at the moment, but it's not falling apart. I drop by from time to time, so it's safer than most places around here."

"Um... thanks." I said, taking the card.
'Maybe it's safe for me. But is it for you?' I thought.

(((Sorry I was in France. Back now)))
I rolled closer, letting the small girl stroke me. I felt the charge, some kind of magic, as she felt my silky fur.

*Twaney's POV*
I patted the kitty, and thought of anything here to cover it up with, to stay out of the cold before realising that my brother wasn't here.
I looked around worridely, wondering where he could be.
*Simon's POV*
I snuck into the toilets with a few bags of chips and the card the man gave me.
The hard part was over, now to get out of here.
Part of the wall turned into a black circle and moved out of he building, then floated in the air, just above ground level.
I stepped onto it and it carried me back to where I left Twaney, at top speed.
When I got there, I saw the little cat.
"Got some company here?" I asked.
"Yeah! Can we keep it?" Twaney asked.
"You know the rules Twaney... I'm sorry." I told her.
"Ok... but can she stay a little?" Twaney asked.
"Ok... but she'll have to go soon... ok?" I asked.
"OK" Twaney agreed.
