"Uh-huh." I agreed, leaping offmy stool. I looked back at the bartended, "Er... you should probably stay here and... erm... just stay inside." We all rushed out to find that Josh, and Tpot, were right. The street was full of screaming people as fireballs fell from the sky. Burning cars and buildings lined the road, and... well it basically looked like hell."Jesus." I murmured. "Ok then, lets do this." "It would help if we could get anywhere!" Nicki yelled, her drunkeness quickly slipping away, "The damn road is full of burning cars!" "Guess its a good thing we're a pair of witches then huh?" I replied. Each taking one side, we raised our hands, and murmured spells which caused the fire to die down to a minimum, at which point i dumped a load of water on them. "All done." I said, and headed off to join Joshua.

And at which point they all remembered the latter half of my statement. All of the water in the city, even holy water, even magically created water, had been turned into wine, which only fueled the fires that had been diminished.
"THAT DOESN'T WORK!" I shouted as I strained to keep a shield up over a group of rescue workers who were trying to get some people out of their burning cars, or out from underneath them in some cases.
"WE HAVE TO SMOTHER THE FIRES! WATER GOT TURNED INTO WINE REMEMBER? TAKE OUT THE AIR!" And to demonstrate this I sent a few dozen time bubbles out which quickly expanded to surround the fires where nobody was and within minutes the fires disappeared, running out of oxygen.

((But my water came from else where and was magicked there! Urgh, never mind.))
"Oops." I moaned. A different few choice words dumped a load of soil on the flames instead, smothering them sucessfully.

(((Hey, I'm just trying to make the story interesting)))
"Thanks," I said in relief as I could now pull in some of my time bubbles and retrieve the energy in them. I looked up. It was still raining fire.
"Unfortunately, it looks like our work has only begun." Then I noticed Nicki, and the nearly-full status of the moon, still hanging in the sky, and interestingly enough a bright shade of blue.
"Uh, hi Nicki." I hesitated to speak as she was obviously drunk.

I grinned as my drunkeness slipped back over me like a veil and as my eyes began turning yellow, I gave a little giggle
'Hey Joshua! It's a full moon tomorrow, I'll be all grr'

I looked warily at my friends yellow eyes, "Erm, it does start tomorrow, right? Tonight wouldn't happen to be the first of the three nights... would it?"

I looked up at the sky and the bright blue moon to judge for myself the answer to Maya's question.
"No . . . at least one more night for sure," then I paused and asked, "But can't Nicki transform at will, and if she's A) drunk and B) stressed out from her wolf instincts being out of control due to it being only a night away, would that be as bad as a night of the full moon?"

I giggled
'I'm not particularly stressed out. That's why I get drunk. Hang on...' I paused 'That means I am stressed out. I guess I'm too drunk to notice!' I laughed 'Tequila is awesome'

"Right..." I said, not sure exactly what we had decided. "So... is she a risk or not?"

'Why do you keep talking about me like I'm not here? And why am I at...' Panic began to set in and the alcohol drained out as I noticed the moon growing bigger 'Oh no. Oh no I can't.. But I worked it all out and.. I can't change! No chains! And what if I hurt someone?'
Mai placed a hand soothingly on my shoulder
'It's okay, you're not gonna change'
I gave a weak nod and began to calm down as I checked my hands
'I only usually changed after my magic goes haywire and I can't control it'
Ten seconds later and a beam of blue light shot from my hand
'Oh sh*t'

"Nicki!" I snapped, "Listen to me! Hold on- control it!" SHe was shaking her head, non-exsistant breeze ruffling her hair, and magickal energy emanating from her. When it stopped, she looked at me with fear. "Nicki..." I said. She looked down at her hands as fur began to appear, her fingers elongating. "Oh sh*t." I said. "Mai..." She gasped. "Nicks..." I said, "Forgive me, k?" I quickly pressed one hand against her cheek for better contact, and hit her with a powerful mental blow, putting her out cold with a little whimper. I caught her as she fell, and watched the fur recede once again.

"Here," I offered gently, as I picked up the prone werewolf and quickly carried her inside. "You take care of your friend Mai, Tpot, me and the rest of us can take care of this for right now. If Nik wakes up, feel free to join us. I'll call," tapping the side of my head, "if things get too hairy for us."
"Thanks," she said, although reluctantly at having been told not to fight, but even I could see her concern for Nicki was overriding her common sense and logice in some degree.
Just as we walked out, I heard Tpot mutter, sounding stuned, "He called me Tpot!"

"You think this will get to hairy for us?" I asked, "These are people not vamps."

"Hang on guys," I said. "I want to try something," I held my hands out, concentrating on the old man that had taught me so much.
"Thesky light is the key. Strike it to end this." It was a feeling I had all but forgotten. I really did miss that old man.
"Alright guys," I said. "That blue light on the moon. Thats the key. We take that out, we end this."

Inside, with Nicki and the terrfied barman, i bit my lip in worry, then smiled- so i couldn't fight, didn't mean I couldn't help. I lay Nicki carefully on the bench in a booth, and sat myself cross legs on the floor nearby, murmuring words i knew off by heart by now. Outside, I knew each of the others would feel a slight tingling sensation as Magickal shields shot up around them. Without having to concentrate on fighting, it would be easy for me to keep my friends protected.
