I sat by the bar, thinking. Only a couple more days before the fight. I'd spoken to Rory earlier. It had been brief, just filling him in, but the strange thing was, it hadn't hurt. I'd been dreading it, but it had been easy, quick.
I looked at the orange juice and stired it gently. It spiraled slowly. It thought about everything, Rory, Chime, the fight, the kiss and wondered what it meant. Was this it? Was this what I wanted? Was I gay?
Questions floated round my head as the slow thudding beat of the music faded into the background.

The word demon brought me back to the surface. Dammit, she would come here of al places. I moved away from the bar and sat at a table near the dance floor.

I tried to get back to my thoughts but the thudding was too loud. I sipped my drink and watched it swirling but it didn't help me become calm. I sighed. Just when I was getting to the root of it, the root of it came and jerked me away.

(((Chime I have her permission)))) I took a gulp. Hmm, maybe not that bad. Not like the cokes I'd forced myself to drink before. More, intoxicating. I looked at my drink again, with new appraisal. Wait, was it meant to be acid green? Then the liquid began to burn my throat. I knew what the burning meant. Poison. Damnit.

I looked across at Chime. She was drinking something rather odd which was strange because I'd heard her order a coke.

((YAY!!))
I walked into the bar, grinning hapily. I walked up to the bartender. "Coke please." The bartender looked at my ripped and damaged clothes. "Can you pay for it?" I grinned even more and pulled out some money. I had money!!!

I turned my head. It was the guy from the orphanage, the one with the ring. Jack, that was his name. I gave him a smile and raised my hand in recognition.

" Oh S***!" I spluttered, coughing. This was not coke!
Hurridly I shifted into a small winged horse that could escape the toxinsa and floated over to the kid who was checking out Jessy.

"Hey Jack!" I called out seeing Chime closing in on him. Pepper was the one convinced she wouldn't hurt anyone. Jack crossed over.

I grinned happily as I walked over to that girl that showed up at the orphanage. Jessy, that was her name. I sat down at the table. "Hi."

"So, how's things?" I asked, the beat still thudding in my head. I think Jack answered, I wasn't sure but suddenly I'd asked him to dance. Maybe part of me thought that would get the drumming out of my head and moving my body.
