I looked around at teh piles of dust. This night couldn't posibly get any worse.
"I wish you really were KITT," I said to my car, putting Kyra's still form inside. Now, what to do with her.

I was so scared thatI felt myself losing consciousness.'Not again' I thought. Suddenly I found myself in pitch blackness and there was someone there with me "who are you" I asked the girl in confusion.

i was in a dark corner, and a presence around me felt familiar even though i was dreaming. it was Karen's magic. then i saw Pepper, the shape-shifter that had attacked me, sitting besides me. i could only tell that it was her because after every 5 or so shifts she returned to her normal form before flashing into animals again.
"um... er... we, um,... met. you know, the Spot? before?" my voice was stuttery, last time i saw her she had attacked me, but now it was her who had a chalky white terrified face. she looked at me blankly.
"err, your normal form is human, you know..." she seemed even more confused than i was.
"i know" she nerviously replied. if anything it was as if she didn't know anything at all. she only knew about herself.

I was once again speeding through the streets of LA, making one quick stop to get a tank of Juice to replce the NoS I'd used earlier. If I was going to catch Karen later...
I screeched to a halt outside Maya's apartment and carried Kyra's body in.
"Vamps trying to remove her," I said, laying her on the lounge as Maya came out. "Thought she'd be safer here. "Back soon."
Moments later, I was speeding through LA, this time, following Jessy's Soul through my Sabre. She'd be at least near the trail. From there, I could catch Karen.

I prowled around the warehouse. It would be stupid to go in alone so I waited for someone to come.

i looked around me. it was a dream portal. sometimes these were created when a person is set to sleep or put unconcious by magic, the person goes to the dream portal that is most closely connected with the person or thing that did the spell. dream portals could be accessed through astral projection but i would need to be much stronger before i could get into one.
" I know where we are... this is Karen's dream portal. it was her who got me here... so it must have been her that got you here aswell." i muttered
"Karen?" Pepper asked
"she asked me, she sked me to join her..."

I pulled up quickly when I saw a panther prowling around the abandoned warehouse.
"What is it with bad guys and warehouses?" I muttered, getting out of the car.

"karen..., she really mucks up this town..." i murmured "how did she take hold of my spell and use it for her own sake?"
"Karen, a witch?" Pepper asked. i looked at her. this memory thing was going to take some time. i ignored her.
"we've gotta get out of here, i could do a spell, but i don't think it'll work in a dream portal."
"evil witches in this town... wait, are you a witch too?" Pepper said.
this memory loss really was going to take time.
i continued muttering aloud hopelessly impossible ways of getting out.
Pepper screamed and crossed her arms over her eyes. she seemed to be seeing things, but she continued to listen.

"Wait" I squealed "I forgot, duh, I can get us out". I cut a portal out of the air and stepped through "Follow me" I instucted. The witch nodded and we were back in the motel.

"Well, they're big, lots of shadows, you know. Well shall we g- Wait." I lifted my nose to the wind. And I smelt them. "They're waking up. The smells. It's complicated. But we don't need to go in there."
"Don't need to?" I grinned.

As I looked around the room i saw the witch again
"Who are you and what have you got to do with the witches" I blurted out, circling round the room.

i did not answer. i felt...odd. then i realised what was wrong. Karen still had my astral form! my spirit form! my magic form. without it i could do nothing. no spells, not anything. a part of me was still there, with her, and it would take a powerful spell to draw it back into me. she had ripped out my spirit.
Goddess, what had she done? swearing under my breath, (to Pepper's annoyance), i figured out that there was only one way to get my spirit back. without my spirit form, well, i had 48 hours while i would get weaker from no life force, only a body and a mind, and at the end of the count down... i did not like to think about it.
by then Pepper had figured out that something was wrong, she could probably sense that my spirit flow was wonky.
"i - i have to go!" i told her and then rushed outside.
i had to find Karen.

I smiled as I filed my nails. I had felt Kyra's soul return to her body and now the game was up.
