I ran in the direction Charlottes fear was coming from. It was early palpable as I finally caught up with her to see a guy rubbing up against her. She was screaming for help, but as usual, no one seemed interested.
Except for me. I was seeing red. How dare he touch her?
"GET AWAY FROM HER!" I roared, grabbing the guy by the collar and yanking him back, placing me in between them. He shouted at me drunkenly, but I didn't register it. I just hit him, hard. He hit the wall and flakes of mortar floated down to land on his unconcious form. "Never touch heragain," I growled needlessly, turning to Charloote. My attitude did a complete turn around, going from pissed to gentle. "Are you alright, Charlotte?"

I got there moments after Doc, glaring at the guy on the floor, and looking worriedly to Charlotte... who was looking at Doc.

I was still breathing heavily. I stood still just watching the scene play out then moved forwards when Doc spoke to me. I didn't answer immediately but put my arms around his neck and pulled his face towards mine.
"i will be." i said a minute later before kissing him again aware of nothing else besides Doc and the blinding power than emanated from my soul sabre

WOW!
I wasn't expecting that. Actually wasn't expecting much of anything after our last chat. This completely blew me away. I was oblivious to anything except Charlotte against me.
"Wow," I whispered as we finally disengaged. "That was...amazing."

I held back laughter- apparently Doc was almost as cheesy as his dear pal Josh. I smiled, and decided to give them some space, turning to the dumb ass who'd attacked my friend.
"Hey." I said, as he blearily looked up at me, somewhere betwween consciousness and unconsciousness. "Little tip. If you wanna keep your precious parts in tact, i suggest you never touch my girl again. K?" I patted him on the cheek. "In fact its probably better that you never show your ugly mug here ever again. get it?"
He nodded as much as he could.
"Say 'i understand'." I ordered.
"I...I... understand..." He splutterd. I smiled.

For once i forgot that I never believed that. i forgot that it always did go wrong and I followed my heart. Though my whole life I had been taught to use my head I gave it a rest and boy was I glad I did.
"Wow." Had been Doc's expression and all i could do was copy him inside my head. Somewhere in the background I heard Maya threatening the dumbass who'd tried it on with me and I smiled, a smile of pure happiness.

How about we do all three?"I couldn't believe this was happening, I wanted to do everything we possibly could do together right there anf then. I thought about number three then looked over to where the object of it stood. " I think Maya has no. 3 covered" I said. "So what are my options now?" I asked flipping my head to the side and moving closer to Doc.

I held Charlotte close as we headed to the bar. The bartender gave us a look.
"About time," he muttered, giving us our usuals. "On the house, and congrats."
"Thanks," I said, shaking my head. "Charlie, don't take offense or anything, but were we really that blind?"

"No." I said. "We were just that scared. I was anyway, still am I think but tonight...tonight I can forget about it." I knew that Doc could understand exactly what I meant. He knew that I wasn't saying i would freak out again in the morning, just that he would have to give me time, i had a lot to work through. I knew he knew this because I knew it about him. It had taken him a lot too suggest us in the first place and i admired him more and more for doing that because I knew exactly how hard it would be and I hadn't had the guts to do it...to move on from my past. Instead I had let it catch up with me and more than once Doc had come to my rescue. "tonight you're right. Nothing will go wrong."

So, Doc had a girlfriend, or at least he did now. Powerful connection too. Oh well, that obstacle shouldn't be too hard to get rid of. I smiled. Mission one: Trick time.
