Josh and i rotated slowly on the dance floor, my head rested on his shoulder and his face pressed into my hair. I so loved these moments- we had so few of them, when we could just forget about the outside world.
Sometimes i wondered if people thought Josh and i were strange... we werent like other couples. He was always busy with work, i was always busy with one thing or another... we werent joined at the hip like many couples... and still, despite having a daughter, we had never been....intimate.... but it didnt matter, not to me, and ...at least i think... not to him. I loved him, and if stuff happened sometime, then it'd happen, and that be be fine too... I smiled, right from inside me, feeling completely content as i so rarely did.

I saw Jessy down the champagne like it was Coca Cola. I worried about that, I admit. But she'd seen what that stuff could do to a person. I trusted her to know how to handle it.

I too had noted Jessy's swift action- had she ever even drunk before? I chuckled to myself, she wasnt dumb, she'd watch herself, but i decided to keep an eye open just the same. Thats what family does.
