"Or big sister," I countered. "And like i said. You might get lucky. It might be a shifter."

"There has to be shifter blood in the family, and even then it can remain dormant for hundreds of years. It is extremely lucky. Most of the shifters in the world are turned, like Rory." I looked at Charlie. "There's always a chance though."

"So, you'll hang around?" I almost sounded like I was begging. Maybe I was.

"What, you thought I was gonna leave?" I scoffed, knowing full well I had been going to and then probably go into a king sized funk.

"Who, you?" I scoffed back. Of course I was afraid she was going to leave! That was something I wouldn't let happen. I'd have to go after her.

"Soooo," I edged to the refreshment table. "Toast to the mother-to-be?" Charlie looked at me, worried. "With lemonade, not alchahol," I said, as though it was painfully obvious.

"Sounds good," I said. "One oranger juice," liverally spiked, I thought. "Giong to join us Rogue?"

"Yeah, come on Rogue, it's only lemonade. It won't kill you. It isn't blessed either." I grinned and offered her a glass.

I was glad Doc and Jessy had smoothed things over but I was starting to be a bit freaked out. Jessy found it freaky she was old enough to be a mothe? i wasn't much older. A shifter? G-d knows what else this baby could be, I hadn't had any kinds of tests done, what if there was something wrong with it? Even domething non-demonic, there are enough things that can go wrong with a human baby...and then when it's older...you never know what your kid might turn out to be. Then it hit me, of course I didn't need to worry so much about that, this kid would be born into a watcher line, it would be the next generation of the new council. I smiled, "To the next watcher generation" I said.

I rolled my eyes, and tried to deflect the conversation from what she'd just said, considering Doc's opinion of most watchers, "Congrats Charlie."

"And now for the exotic dancers." A shocked silence followed and I looked around, the perfect picture of confusion. "What?" I swear I heard cricketts. "GOTCHA!"
"Jessy!"

"Congrats," I said with a nod, drinking it anyways. Not that it really tasted like anything anyways.
Amy smiled as she stood next to Jessy.

The next...? I drunk the juice silently. We'd have to talk about that one.
