She even had her bag in the building nearby full of everything she was going to need after this event was over, the spell set up so when she activated it the two of them would be pulled to it, safely away from Raven and everyone there who would try and kill them. The only person she’d need to worry about would be Doc, the very person this was meant to protect. No doubt he’d try and stake her for this.
Unfortunately there was no other option she could come up with. Raven was too paranoid to let anyone close to him but bringing in someone he was trying to recollect was going to get her close enough and even though she was confident that she could be able to kill him once Doc took out the necromancer she wanted a backup plan just in case he got away. And that’s where the wire tap would come in handy. If he managed to get through her grasp than she could put him out of business permanently.
The information Matt had given her on the location of the last remaining watcher who picked up Maya would help her regain favor with Doc, even if he wouldn’t trust her again. Everything would be worth it in the end; at least she kept telling herself that. Doc had already had time with his sister taken from him and she didn’t want him to run away from that. Although most of the reason she was doing this was purely selfish. She didn’t want him to run at all and if she had to make him believe she was betraying him than so be it.
While Doc was away from his apartment she made sure to hide away all his weapons he kept hidden in case she ever turned on him. Last thing she needed was for him to get an advantage over her and stake her, than he’d still run. That and she wasn’t keen on dying yet.
His scent was over powering her lingering scent in the apartment and before she hadn’t thought much of this place, and she herself was curious to see if he’d slip in her room and stake her in her sleep, even wondered it when she shared her crypt with him. But he never came.
Part of her grinned though as she stood in plain view of the front door, wearing only a shirt of his. They’d been dancing around each other for weeks before the Raven thing, possibly months; she was going to have to use that to her advantage. Raven wouldn’t believe an act, it had to be real. She needed Doc to hate her and it only seemed obvious to use their interest to play on his emotions.
Now all that was left was to wait for him to return home from where ever he was…
