"So he forced you to pick which was more important," he said. "Your current life or your former," he stopped for a moment, thinking. "Or maybe him or her?

"Or both. I don't know nor do I care. Right now I've chosen neither. He comes near me he's as dead as she is. Burning the building down might make me feel better though." Yes, fire. As a vampire I suppose it was a bit out of sorts to like fire so much.

"Than I'll be the hunted." They could try. Maybe one of them could succed? I doubted it.
"I may not be evil but I have no soul." But I'd feel for Doc and the others. "I could kill everyone of them without bating an eyelash." Lies. If only they were true. What defined a soul anyways?

"Then why haven't you yet?" He asked. "Why the fledge and not Doc? Given how much he's avoided your feelings in the past, I'm surprised you didn't take the oppurtunity to put the situation to bed," curiosity asked that, mainly, though perhaps another reason. An attempt to make her think.

"Because I did what I did with Raven so he wouldn't run from his sister. Because I seem to like setting myself up to be disappointed?"

"Perhaps," he said. "Perhaps. But then, there's something else that kind of bothers me about it," he ran his hand over the top of a tombstone. "If he didn't care about you why would he try to force the issue? why ot do it himself? I mean, you two haven't actually been close, so..."

"Well for one, letting you take care of things instead of doing it himself?" he offered. "Letting you get some kind of closure? Figuring where he stands, perhaps?"

"See missed the point and no. Having to chose and then your hand being forced, thats not the way to find closure. I've given up so much and he hasn't budged an inch. He's still on his high horse."

"When you love or even just care for someone you let them in. You do things for them. I've killed the monster of his childhood and one of my fledges. What has he done?"

"Opened his home to you?" Matthew offered, remembering before hte Raven affair. "And the fact that he, at least seemed to want to open some dialogue with you..."
