"You would think with so many slayers in my head I would have plenty of experience," she almost pouted, crossing her arms over her chest, not pleased with the idea of something she needed to work on. Even if it was new...

Mal gave a chuckle, his eyes shining lightly. He actually liked teaching. Who knew? "Not in sorting through all that knowledge, though. In that, you're barely even a novice."

"Yeah... well... I still don't like it..." It was something that was very new to her. Part of her enjoyed that until she looked at how tiring the process was going to be just to get through all the slayers that came before her. That and all the ones alive in her head. That got confusing.

"Well, nothing worth doing right is ever easy," Mal said with a shrug.

"Yeah, but we don't know if it'll even work." Alright, she was more of a pessimist but it saved a person from being disappointed... Worked so far. Well so far that she could remember. Or maybe it was something she learned from one of the slayers in her head. She could never really be sure which thoughts and habits were her own and not from someone else's mind. How COULD you know even if there weren't voices in your head?

"True," he relented. It was only a theory, despite the look up promising good results. "But at least it's a step in the right direction. It's not like you had any strong possibilities before," he nodded, looking at his collection with a smile. "The probability of this working is about 85%."

"How could you know that?" she asked looking at him slightly curious. The thought did give her some hope but the pessimist part of her counter he very well might be lying to give her hope. False hope. Something to cling to until you force yourself to let go of it.
Hell she wished she could say it was helping already except she knew it was only because today was one of her lucid days. Tomorrow she might not be able to control anything she did or said. It was always to inconsistent.

"I've done several look up since out first meeting," he said. "Adding several keywords to the mix that may or may not affect the outcome. Certain Slayers, whether they were alive or not..." he looked at her pointedly. "I have done extensive research on your abilities, and read every book in the Planet Library that even remotely touched on it. The results are promising."

"... ok...?" she said slightly confused but dropped it. "I'll... just take your word on it ok?"
Stretching her arms out she dared herself to stand up with out tipping in any directions she didn't want to before going in to a stretching routine to loosen up her muscles which seemed to have gone slightly stiff for the short time they were in... where ever they were.

"Of course," he said with a curt nod. There were very few that could follow him when he spoke like that. He felt... alone sometimes.
He pulled a book from the shelf, seemingly at random, opening it to a page and reading quietly as she stretched, letting her relax in her own world.

Frowning she looked at him. "Whats wrong?" Did she say something that he didn't like? Was he offended by anything? She didn't know him so she couldn't be sure. Plus she wasn't so good with people unless they were bad guys but that was when her fighter instincts came in. Out of all her skills she had fighting and surviving down pat. Everything else to do with human interactions left her confused.

"No, not at all," he said, looking up. "I was just leaving you to your own devices. I did not wish to intrude," he wasn't good at interacting for long periods of time. Even Doc, his omst frequant visitor, didn't help with that. They shared a few jibes, did a look up and that was usually it. He had often wondered if that made them friends. He honestly wasn't sure.

"Oh..." she replied watching him before looking around the library awkwardly.

"Never seen so many books in one place?" he asked idly, turning a page. "I know they dont' really interest you, but to me, they're my life. I don't get out much."

"I know," she said, "And why don't you get out every once and a while?" She couldn't stay trapped in one place for a long time. Seemed to... cramped.
