Since bring the dagger to my crypt I hadn't dared or bothered touching it until now. It was a nice... gift? With a frown I placed it on the top of one of the coffins before pacing the room. Should I appreciate it or break it? The fact that I considered both options calmly confused me.
Had this been many months ago I would have been thankful for it, but now I wasn't sure if I cared.
This is why I should just stick to hunting. Hunting was simple, you take the other guy out before he takes you out. Adding emotions made things confusing.
Only problem with hunting is that no one dared go near or in my graveyard now. Doc was the last one here and that was a few days ago. Part of me was becoming restless. Being cooped up here had not been part of the plan.
Maybe... Yes, I'll go see Mal, see if there had been any good demon activity. Hunting should clear my thoughts, right?
Opening the door to my crypt I envisioned the library and before me when I opened the door was Mal's library. Without another thought I entered.

Mal looked up from his book as the bell rang. "Hello Rogue," he said. "Something i can do for you?"

"I was wanting to know of the current demon activity," I said, looking at him as I approached.

"You mean aside from 'nowhere near your graveyard'?" He asked, going into the stacks and pulling out a map, which he unrolled onthe table. "I took the liberty of highlighting the hotspots in the city. you and Jackson seem to have the same idea: Mass destruction to relieve stress."

I froze at the mention of Doc's real name but the desire to kill things over rode that. "Which ones would he not be at?" Would be a pity to have to kill him after all that... Maybe.

"You're welcome," he said. "Do try to be careful. He may be as thick as two short planks and oblivious to most everything, but Jackson would be incredibly upset if you were harmed," he picked up the book he was reading. "That section of town might even vanish in a bloody cloud of gore."

"Dying has never been a part of the plan, even when I was alive." I was sure there was a joke there some where. "Dying is just a way of life. When my time comes it'll happen weither it's tonight or centuries from now."

"Yes, well, I'd rather not have to try and calm and irate Talented trained by a sociopathic Warlord with delusions of grandeur," he said flatly. "So make sure it's even less in your plans than usual."

"Yes, yes, i know that," he muttered, flucking to the next page. And neither do I, he added mentally. Doc hadn't HEADED to that location originally, but he may have, quite possibly, headed there eventually . Especially since Mal may have, possibly inferred untruthfully that an ally of the last Watcher in charge of Maya's kidnapping was hiding in that area and was out for revnger.
Perhaps he should have mentioned that to Rogue.
...
Nah.

This was where Mal had pointed out on the map. I looked up at the office building. Built over forty years ago now closed because of the current state of the economy. Their lose was an attraction to all sorts of squatters. Vampires and demons liked places like these because several of them could take residence at once with out being noticed.
With a grin I entered my senses picking up only a couple of vampires, nothing truely exciting. Easy to work through though.

Doc shook his head as he climbed up the ladder. Seriously what was WITH this city and sewer access? Was it designed by vampires? It just seemed to be purpose designed to make things easier fro the blood sucking parasites (with one obvious exception and the less we stray on those thoughts the better thank you very much).
With a sigh he push the hatch up a crack, looking around before sliding out fo hte hole, checking his bag.
Time for therapy.

Two vampires. They were quick to find and as quick to stake. Seeming to go down without a fight. Which was... disappointing. This was the problem when your prey was not as strong as you. Vampires weren't strong enough for what I wanted in a fight.
For a demon hotspot it was certainly lacking in interest.
