The apple in my hand gleamed red under the artificial lighting. Rain beat against the windows. Lately, it seemed, rain beat against everything it could. It never relented to those who would walk under it or through it. All week it has been raining. Would it ever stop?
Ricki laughed loudly, causing me to smile, even though me smile never reached my eyes. They never noticed. Well they noticed I slept less and was jumpy, but I told them all I needed was to goto the doctor. Which I didn't, but they thought I did. Thats all that mattered.
I lived only for Rin. She was the only thing keeping me from singing. But singing would bring it out. Problem was, the urge was getting harder and harder to resist. All I needed was a few notes to trap someone under my spell.
I tossed the apple at Ricki who caught it with a grin and laughed loudly, the sound making me chuckle a bit. She was going on about her latest school work, and of course her boyfriend.

I walked into the kitchen, half expecting no one to be there. I wasn't intirely sure where I had been the past couple of months, but everything looked diffrent, yet the same.
"Hey guys! What's up?"
I shook some rain out of my hair, the water droplets falling around me. Taking off my glasses, I grabbed the edge of Ricki's shirt and dried them so I wasn't blind as a bat.
My bad luck kept on going when my car broke down a week ago, and the mechanic told me that it was beond repair. I blamed Tyler. He was probably using for drag racing or something. At least, that's what I would do.

"You're all wet..." was all Lisa said, raising an eyebrow at Ashley.
"What did you do walk here?"

I nodded, not really caring if they knew. "My bucket of bolts finally decieded to kick it's self."
I thought about what I said, and it probably only made sense in my mind, so I refrased it
"It's dead. Not coming back either."

"Ouch," Lisa winced.
"That fuckin sucks," Ricki deadpanned.

I shrugged. "We all knew it was going to happen soon." I kinda laughed.
"It's not like I'm gunna melt or anything, walking in the rain. It's actually a lot nicer than walking on a sunny day, ya know? So how have ya'll been lately?"

"Not bad," Lisa shrugged.
"Awesome, schools going great too!" Ricki said, clearly excited.

"Oh yeah!" I didn't realize she was already going to school. Wow. I needed to check back in with reality.
"Tell me everything!"

"Well, so far I'm the most 'intuitive' in animal behavior," she bubbled, using the air qoutes to show she was using her gift.

"I can imagine." I walked over to the fridge, and took out a bottle of water. Unscrewing the cap and taking a swig, I breifly wondered why the brand had changed the shape of the bottle, or even when. It seemed to be like my life. There were small changes everywhere, and I couldn't remember when things changed.
"What about your other classes?" I asked Ricki, hoping to clear my mind of the swirling thoughts that plauged it

"There's always gunna be people you don't like." I sounded all wise and knowing. "The only thing you can do is be patent with them." That's exactly what my dad told me when I cursed out a teacher in my juinor year.

"Easy for you to say," Ricki groaned out. "She treats everyone like they're idiots."
