Try Exiles if you like seeing how things could have turned out. There're some really interesting realities.
Also, check out the Tenth anniversary for 'Age of Apocalypse'. Kinda like 'I Wish' only Xavier dies before he can form the X-Men. The different mentor and team is...interesting. ;D
Another one to have a look at, X-23. She's basically a clone of Wolverine, only they couldn't duplicate the Y chromosone necessary to make her a male. ;D

She was in X-Men: Evolution?  I didn't know that. Damn. But yeah, she's now in comic book form. Four claws, two on each hand, with one on each foot. Other than that, female Wolvie, and extremely protective of the Canucklehead. ;D |

Seriously, her costume is a combination of Sabretooth's old one and Wolvies yellow and brown costume. Looks sweet!
