Ok, so maybe overtaken and not stopped rather than catching up. Still, much as I hated to see her like this it was far from the worst thing i had seen.

Jessy looked at me frostily, well that's an understatement, it would have turned someone with a bigger heart than mine into an ice sculpture.
"Look I'm with you on the first part. There's no power struggle here, I'm not about taking command but I'm also not about following blindly. It just aint going to happen. That doesn't mean there's any other loyalties, doesn't mean I wont be standing by your shoulder in battle but I'm not going over the top if it means walking into bullets you've not seen because you've disregarded another perspective. So, might I suggest we both play at this watcher role and take a look at this book."

Jack raised his eyebrows at the 'I control you.' Statement. "You don't control me blondie. If I decide that Doc's got a point then I can go join up with him and there's nothing you can do about it. You are not the only one who thinks your life depends on this working, I already have met death. Infact I know her rather well, if you think that your playing the major role here and that you can get rid of any person here and still take on Doc and succed, you've got another thing coming. You need every single person in this room to take down Doc and acting like a bitch is not going to make your chance any better."

I walked through the unblocked doorway, down the stairs and out of the hell hole that had claimed to be my home for the past two years.

I just looked at the guy and sighed. It was tempting just to stay and ignore all the personal business but once again something about the group made me act against all my instincts and I headed after Jessy.
