An old friend?

"513, huh?" I said. "Well, it's a bit of a shock, but I'm used to it. I've lost count of the amount of not so normal people I've run into over the years. "So, zombie, Immortal, God, what is it?"

[Azoth (Kyler)]

"First one was correct. You see... we aren't all what people say we are. I, as you can see... am a lot more intelligent than poeple make zombies out to be." I explained.

[Jackson ''Doc'' Ellison]

"I noticed," I said. "Well, i suppose haveing a Zombie as a surrogate father isn't that much different. I mean, I'm dating Rogue, and I've got a living skeleton as a friend, so it's not that much of a stretch."

[Azoth (Kyler)]

"Living skeleton goes by the name of Zeroc by any chance?" I asked.

"Yes, actually." Doc replied.

"Hmmm... so he survived. I didn't know he was still around!" I said.

"You know him?" Doc asked.

"Little brother. around 67 years younger than myself, if I can remember correctly." I recalled.

"Haitti must still be around then?" I asked, wondering if he knew.

((You didn't know? I said it in one of the threads in the Dojo. I said she was 17 when she was turned. Slayers never lived very long remember? >_< ))

(((Oh, yeah. I forgot.)))

"Haitti?" I repeated, thinking. "Not exactly sure. I don't think he mentioned anyone by that name. Of course, he wasn't the most open of people. I know I can count on him, though. Weren't for him and two other of you're brothers, I'd be down another sister. And probably my own life."

"Oh really?" I replied, "looks as if my family has helped you out a fair bit! Tell me... what was it like when you first met my brother?"

[Jackson ''Doc'' Ellison]

(((Yeah, make me think, why don't you. Do you have any idea how long agao that was?)))

"Well, kind of... strained," I said. "He was kind of aloof, really intent on bringing you're siblings up and about, which, in hindsite, isn't a bad thing. Then however... he wasn't a people person, and sometimes he even acted like a bad guy. So... yeah, not a good first impression. But, things got better. I think he even loosened up a bit."

[Azoth (Kyler)]

"He was never to fond of people." I replied. "I'm amazed that he changed at all!"

I headed back to my desk and took the piece of paper from it.

"I'm sorry to cut this short," I said, looking at my watch,''But I am a very busy immortal."

I handed over the piece of paper to Doc, ''take this... it's a gift."

It was a cheque, and there were a fair few 'zero's' following the 'one'!

I think the only way my jaw could have gone lower is if the floor vanished. "This..." I began. "This is... I don't get it. I don't understand, sir. What...?"

[Azoth (Kyler)]

I put my hand on his shoulder. "In return," I whispered, "don't follow in my footsteps."

I led him to the elevator door.

"Oh yeah, and share it. What goes around, comes around." I said.

The elevator opened and Doc got in. I waved goodbye and went to resume my extremely busy life.

I was still in shock as I walked back into the Dojo.

"You alright?" Rogue asked. I showed her the check I'd been given.

"Wanna go on holiday?" I said in a daze.

"Where did you get that?" I asked surprised at the number of zeros.

I tried to look over their shoulders, found I was too small and ducked round. "Wha- wha- what?" I asked, eyes almost popping out of my head.
