'You wouldn't have gotten close before I'd stopped you from doing something you'd regret, but why would you kill me? Why would you hate me so much? Because Tucker looked at me?' I shook my head 'You wouldn't have killed me'

"How do you know that?" But I was bluffing. I'd never killed anyone. I just wanted to leave and she wouldn't let me.
"Please let me go. I was lying but I just want to go." I looked from Tucker to Nicki. "You deserve him. I don't."

'You lied didn't you? You've never understood what it's like to kill a member of your own family... But I had to you see, if I hadn't she would have killed me and I had to. I don't deserve Tucker, but it's not up to me and it's not up to you it's up to him' I turned away 'Go then'

Doc and I stared at each other after watching the little drama unfold, not having stepped in or interferred, except to maybe dust those vamps that had almost gotten Jessy.
"So," I said as Jessy walked off, Tucker just kind of stood there, and Nicki huffed off in her own direction.
"So," Doc agreed, shrugging to himself and just staring, as stunned as I was at the sheer STUPIDITY of what had just happened.
"I'll take Jessy?" I offered.
"I know how to handle Nicki, but you don't know Jess that well," he told me. "You at least know Nicki well enough to ask."
"Right," I agreed, and then with a final farewell embrace, we seperated and I walked in to talk with Nicki while Doc chased after Jessy.

"Maybe," I stressed, leading with the word as I stepped progressively closer to my friend, "I heard the very confusing jargon back there and decided to help, if I could."
She just crossed her arms and stared at me.
"Maybe I'm just here to lend a shoulder?" I offered with a shrug and a grimace of apology. The next move was hers.

'Jargon? She accused me of being the object of affections before wanting to kill me and then wanting to kill herself, oh yeah and she pretended she'd killed her dad to invoke emotions from me. Emotions that I don't want right now' I sighed 'And I refuse to deal with this'

"That's not healthy Nik, and . . ." I stopped talking as the both of us raised our heads and turned in the same direction.
Mai was in trouble, and it involved Jessy too.
"Come on, let's go," Nicki started to run off, but I grabbed her arm and held her back for just a moment.
"Nik, this isn't over. You need to talk to someone and if it's not gonna be me, that's ok, but I know you need to talk to somebody. Please don't bottle it up until we have a reoccurance of the shadow demon," I reminded her.
She grimaced, and then reluctantly nodded her head, then snapped with impatience, "Now can we go please!"
I smiled and nodded and we headed off for the pound.
