"If you know what's good for ya mate, don't say it," Doc said before I even started to open my mouth.
Wisely, I followed my friend's advice and kept my trap shut. Then I turned to Ms Godess, and confronted her, slightly away from the others.
"Want to explain exactly what it is you *think* you know about me?" I challenge her.
She may indeed be a goddess, and even more powerful than a full-demon, non-Ben, non-human, non-insane Glory. But in my presence, Time answers to my will. To demonstrate this, without even touching her, I pulled the both of us into Hypertime.
"Well?" I press, when she hesitates.

"Oh for..." I started. And then it happened again.
"Labyrinth."
"Excuse me?" I demanded. The others looked at me.
"What's up, Oz?" Tucker asked.
"Firstly, Oz is a werewolf," I said evenly. "My name is Doc. Secondly, i think my Soul Saber wan'ts me to go to teh Labyrinth."
"Excuse me?" (Everyone)
"Hey it said it," I said sullenly.

Once I got the answers I wanted, I pulled us both back into real time, just in time to hear Doc say that.
'Great' I thought, 'I get a divine warning, and HE gets a summons. Just bloody great!'
"Here," I tell him, tossing him my key until I can get him one of his own for this place. "Sublevel 3. The stone archway. Word of advice, don't expect anything. Don't expect the unexpected, and most especially don't expect your greatest fear. We'll all be up here, reading."
"Thanks," he said with a nod, taking my key to the Elevator and then going down to the Labyrinth.
Good thing I've got a spare key.

I turned around and back tracked to the group, "Tell me i didn't hear what i think i just heard?" "You did." Joshua replied. "He's gone? Even after all that Ate said? Unstable magic and all that?" "That was about me." Joshua replied. "Not all of it, dumbass." I snapped, "Are we sure he'll be ok?"

"Ask that sword of his," I told her, still feeling a bit miffed at the so-called 'goddess', and handing her a book on magic artifacts.
I turned around and pulled another book for myself off the shelf.
"And you're just going to let him go, without being there to back him up?" she shouted at me.
"Doc," I said, exasperated, "can take care of himself, something he's proved more than you *or* I have. And remember, you face your challenges alone in the Labyrinth. Even if we all went with him, he'd still basically be alone. Now, what we can do for him, and for the city, is to find the answers we need by the time he gets back up here."
She sulked for like half a second, but then rebuffed with her 'Slayer attitude' and stormed off.
I heard Nicki telling her it would be OK, but personally, I was with Maya on this one, and I wasn't so sure that *anything* would be "OK" again.
(((Fast Forward 12 hours of research and sleep time)))

((Erm... I'm guessing we slept in the library? Well fingers crossed))
I sat up suddenly and blinked as harsh lights poured onto my still sleepy face. Looking down I realised I had been fast asleep on page 412 on Harrison's Apocolypse Compendium: All You Need Is Luck!
Yes that had as such been my latest research material in about fifty other books which held nothing better than portals which were circles which is a shape. Very tenuous connections!
Looking around I saw Joshua laying across two armchair like seats with a book hanging from his hand and Maya was a foot away curled up on the floor, barely looking alive except the fact she was breathing. Ate seemed to have disappeared for the moment but I knew she would appear again and I racked my brains for what was missing...
'Doc!'
Maya and Joshua awoke with a start and the book tightly held in the time wizards hand crashed to the floor, the spine breaking with a crack. Maya looked particularly peturbed as she pushed her hair from her face
'What? What's wrong?'
'Doc' I repeated it more slowly 'Is not here'
Joshua blinked and pushed his feet from the chair, standing up
'He's still doing his challenge, you woke us for that?'
'Well you're the time expert... Look at the time between his entering and his non-exiting' Glances were thrown at a large plastic clock 'Yeah surely it doesn't take that long right?'

"I guess it depends on the challenge." I yawned, standing and stretching, before sitting down on my pile of 'done' books, which was considerably larger than the others thanks to magical skim reading. "Maybe we should go check he's not lying half dead outside the arch." I suggested, yawning again. "I hate waking up." I murmured.

((Oops I forgot Tucker... Erm *waves magical fingers* he's asleep under a desk))
I yawned as Maya yawned and covered my mouth with my hand
'Don't! You're makin me..' I was cut off by something moving under the desk and a sudden bang shot through the room
'OW!'
I looked concerned under the desk at a half asleep, heavily concussed Tucker and held out my hand to pull him out
'Maybe sleeping there weren't such a great idea'
He rubbed the top of his head and sighed
'You're telling me!' He looked around 'Where's Oz?'
'Doc' Joshua corrected him 'He's still doing the challenge'
'We think' I stretched 'But Mai has the right idea in checkin'

I shook my head slightly at Tucker- another boy i will never understand, i thought. "Come on, Doc might need help- and if Ate's info on the owner is true- which i'm pretty certain it is, Doc might REALLY need help." My eyes flickered to Joshua, but i held back the jibe i would happily throw at him. The last thing we needed was another stupid arguement, and *shudder* what sometimes happens after arguements with Joshua. I shuddered again. "You ok?" Nicki asked as we headed out of the room. "Fine." I replied, "Just a little chilly."

I frowned at her response, I for one was really quite toasty but I didn't want to say anymore in case we had another arguement.
Over to my right Tucker and Joshua seemed to be in an animated conversation and again I frowned. Far too early to be that chatty.
'Mai' I fluttered my eyelashes 'You don't happen to know how to materialise lovely waking up coffee do you?'

"So, what did you come up with?" Tucker asked me as we let the girls do their thing.
"Not much. I'd have to check with the others and see what they found out, but my guess is that the cube is not *solely* responsible for 90% of the city gone missing. There may be other cubes which powers may be working in tandem with the one we found and it's creating a sub-space reality where everyone that can't resist the energies, namely everyone without supernatural abilities or knowledge, has been drawn into. Again, no guaratees that I'm right without comparing research."
"How'd you come up with that?" Tucker asked, sounding surprised.
I shrugged, "Research is more than just looking in old books to see if anybody *else* has encountered what we're facing. I've been analyzing the cube. It's giving off a low-level magical energy field, sort of like the electromagnetic field a lightbulb gives off . . . only magical."
"All right, so what now?"
"Well, what did you find out?" I countered.
"As far as glowing cubes and empty cities? Everything from ghost towns, curses, and alien technology from the future. Everything I looked at was a complete waste. Nada."
I sighed.
"All right, we need more information than what we've got so far. Once Doc gets out, which he should be shortly, of the Labyrinth, we're going to have to search the city. It's day now, so vamps won't be much of a problem. If there are other cubes, we need to find them and figure out what they are, and *if* they're responsible for what's going on with the city, we then need to figure out how to turn them off."
"Sounds good to me," Tucker agreed, and we rejoined the girls, who were now glaring at us.
"Coffee later, you wanted to see if Doc's all right, let's go hot-stuff," I said to Maya. She growled and just when she would have no doubt grabbed me and slammed me up against the wall a few times, I reappeared directly behind her. Gods I *love* being a Time Wizard!
"Much as I would enjoy toying with you this morning, chic, we're in the middle of an apocalypse and that means no messing around. There are vending machines down there anyway, along with one of those vending coffee machines too if I recall correctly. So whenever you're ready," I tease her.

I glared at him again, thinking perhaps killing him in his sleep might have been a good idea- he was twice as bad now he was all rested and chirpy. Without blinking, i materialised two cups of coffee in my hands, and passed one to a grinning Nicki. "Ooh, caffiene." She said. "Well... if you're offering..." Joshua reconsidered. "Ok." I said sweetly, "Here." A cup of coffee apeared over his head... only then the cup disintegrated, and the coffee flowed down over his head. I turned back to walk down the corridor, feeling much perkier.

I rolled my eyes at the antics and took a long grateful sip of my coffee. Just the stuff to wake me up!
Taking another sip I sighed
'So...' I broke off 'Too early to even begin to talk. Someone else do it. In fact no because then we'll get another Joshua-Maya love and hate scene. Right so! Erm' I took a slurp of coffee 'Any luck with the research?'

I rolled my eyes, shook my head, and marched down the corridor... to the lift. I frowned, looked for stairs, and found none. "Bugger." I snapped, and leant against the wall to drink my coffee and scowl at anyone and everyone else.

I followed Maya and stifled a yawn, managing to spill most of my coffee in the process
'Oh bloody hell! I can't sodding take this anymore, we either get happy and figure out what the hell is going on or we remain angry, grumpy and generally on each others nerves! Now I'm on the brink of collapsing into a sleepy heap on the floor but I'm more interested in Doc. Maya I'm sorry about the Joshua thing but please try and be less immature about it. Joshua just lay off Mai for awhile and Tucker... Tucker just remain yourself!'
I took a few deep breaths and sat next to the lift door, exhausted from my outburst
