I shuffled a little
'Well I was just thinking how y'know we haven't really talked since you tried to kill us'
He gave me a weird look
'Yeah and?'
'You single?'
I watched amused as he turned red and gave out a mental note to Jessy

I sneakily placed my hands behind my back and magically pulled Jessy over. Tucker smiled

(((Back with us...again)))
We had gotten the Charmed One's story, and our future selves had gone back to whence they came from through a simple time portal, and I could tell Mai was glad to see them gone, despite not learning what would happen in the next few hours that would make her want to wear armor.
With the Charmed Ones, and all other supernatural humans in the city that we could find, we made our way back to the Training Center, taking out each and every group of demons we came across, whether they attacked us or not.
"So, besides being cryptic, all-knowing and basically just annoying you, her past self, what's really bothering you? And I know it's not the whole 'meeting future me and not liking what I see' thing. Or even that she pushed your buttons. So what's the problem Mai?" I asked her.
She sighed and unconsciously hugged herself, crossing her arms and shrugging her shoulders before opening her mouth to answer, before hesitating and closing it again. I patiently waited for her to answer my question.

'Yeah it was cool. I wish I hadn't been so unconcious'
She gave a small smile and I frowned at Nicki, wishing I'd learnt how to do the mind communicating thing so I could ask what was up besides what I already knew
'Um so...'
Nicki stepped in
'So guys when this is all over we should go out and stuff. I mean like celebrations or maybe just you two because we all know I'm horrible when I'm drunk' She paused 'Okay you two have never seen me drunk and thats so not the point but I'm rambling so yeah... You two should go out sometime'
Nicki POV
Great one Nick, now everyone thinks you are a complete loser. And you had to be so damn obvious!
I mentally hit myself as Tucker rested a hand on my head
'You feelin alright Nicki?'
'No I'm fine. I just thought you two would get on really well and I tried to start a conversation and failed'
'But we do get on really well right Jessy?'
I noticed Jessy had gone bright red and was mumbling slightly as Tucker looked back at me eyebrow raised
'I have to go.. To the toilet! Bye!'
And with that I bolted the room.

...and ran smack dab into Maya as we entered the room, and no doubt just as Mai was about to answer my question. Doing some fast thinking, and I think with some help from that strange connection that had suddenly developed between Mai and I, and even faster reacting, I skirted around behind Nicki while Mai caught her, used her momentum to twirl them around instead of drive them to the floor, and then released her into my arms, where I used up the last of her overpowering momentum by flipping her head over heals the same way swingers do in their dance moves.
"Whoa, Nik, you all right?" I asked, instantly concerned, and for the moment, replacing that for my concern over Mai's quiet attitude.
"Uh..." Nicki was quiet, probably a little overwhelmed and still spinning from mine and Mai's little acrobat show just a second ago.

'I... I'm fine thanks. I've just been feeling a little weird today. Well no I haven't but..' I shook my head 'No no I'm fine. I think I got more scratched up while I was fighting then I gave credit'
I used a gash on my arm and a bruise on the side of my head as proof

"Well . . . OK then," I said slowly, trying to see if there was any more damage.
"Oh, here let me help with that," Paige suddenly and brisquely walked forward past Mai and I and with much surprise to us all, her hands began to glow with warm golden light and in an instant all of Nicki's wounds were healed.
"Uh, thanks?" Nicki replied, sounding unsure.
"No problem. I am half-whitelighter you know," Paige said, sounding proud.
"Well if she didn't she does now," Piper remarked, still carrying Wyatt. "Come on, we've got to get these people inside you two."
"Right," I put my mind back on track. "Nik, would you mind helping Mai get everyone sorted out as they come in and I'll start getting some rooms and other things ready for all the people we managed to get here safely."
"Uh..." Nicki kind of looked like a fish with that open and closing mouth of hers.
"Come on," Mai gestured, pulling Nicki along before she could protest. Meanwhile I made my way to the back rooms and got out several cots as well as clearing a few rooms, including the main lobby gym of exercise equipment to make room for the temporary cots.

Nicki and I got everyone in, and deposited them in one of the regular gyms where there was plenty of space for them to just sit or stand around. I checked in on Jessy and Tucker, noticing that Jessy was bright red and mentally singing. Nicki sat down with them, and i silently slipped from the room.
Joshua was sorting stuff in another of the gyms, and didn't notice me when i first walked in. I stood by the door, watching him for a minute. When he turned round to survey his work, he jumped slightly at the sight of me. I smiled wryly,
"Hey." I said.
"Hey." He replied. I ambled into the room,
"Doin a good job." I commented. He said nothing, looking at me oddly. I sighed, and sat on the end of one of the beds.
"What is it?" He asked, his voice softer than i'd ever heard it. I shook my head slightly,
"It's... it's nothing really."
"And i'm king kong." He said disbelievingly. I chuckled,
"Really?" I sighed, "I just... this is all so crazy. Everyone disappearing, Doc doing the wiggy labyrinth thing, the future us's, the friggin charmed ones... us..." I found myself avoiding eye contact, and shaking my head again, "It's been a wierd couple of days." I said quietly.
"You ok?" He asked tentatively, sitting beside me.
"I honestly dont know." I replied in a voice barely more than a whisper.

Shifting my attention from Tucker *contented sigh* for a moment I noticed Mai and Josh. Nicki was pissed because she couldn't tease them so I decided to make her happy. I began my first telipathic conversation. However, although I could broadcast messages I couldn't receive them, which was probably a good thing.
[So, Mai, how's your snugglebunny? Your love-king? Your Angelman?]
If we had suddenly been transported to Ancient Pompeii, I wouldn't have been able to tell the difference between Vesuvius and Mai.
