I chuckled. Emotional time bomb? Gee, that must run in the family too.
But she was the most powerful. And any strikes would probably be at her.
"So, guess we gotta watch her back," I muttered. Strange. All this worrying about Mai, I almost forgot about Charlotte. Maybe I should focus on keeping li'l sis safe for a while. At least til Charlie leaves.

As i walked away from teh apartment, what i had managed not to say was buzzing in my mind- i was not the one to worry about. Aila was far more powerful, whether she fully knew it or not- and she could barely control any of it. I wondered for the millionth time what she was 'chosen' for... surely that suggested that she might be targetted if it had anything to do with this apocalypse. I knew there was no way i could keep her out of the fight, but frankly, i was terrified about might happen.
