"Shake you're head all you want, Jessy," I said. "He comes near you, he's gettin' introduced to an ol' friend o' mine."

"Go get some rest," I told her. I gave mai a look and she and Pepper followed.
After they had headed into hte next building, I put a hastilly formed plan to action.
"Call my lawyers, Mal," I said. "I've got an idea."
"What sort of idea?" Mal asked.
"First, we keep him at least one hundred metres away from her," I said. "Then, we make it so he can never hurt her again."

I slept peacefully, dreamlessly. I felt safe, warm and happy. Everything would turn out alright, I knew it.

(((Third Person)))
Mal watched over the occupants of the two buildings silently. Doc had, relunctantly, headed to the loft for some sleep, leaving mal alone.
But not for long.
"Hello, Mother," Mal said as Jasmine appeared. there were few that had unlimited teleportation access to the Dojo. His mother was one of those few.
"How are they Mal?"
"Terrified of loosing her," Mal told her. "So am I, truthfully. I don't know what else we can do."
"You can just kepp giving her the support she needs," Jasmine told him. "That's all we can do."

"What about you?" Mal asked.
"Well," Jasmine said. "I'm going to keep watching over her. I wouldn't be much of a Guardian Angel if I didn't now, would I?"
"I guess not," Mal said asa she faded away. He extended his digital senses outward, keeping an eye on Jessy's so-called-father. He wouldn't get close enough to hurt her. Mal would see to that.

Jasmine sat near the roof, invisible to the naked eye. Jessy's shifter senses, however, were another thing entirely.
"Sleep, my girl," she whispered. Jessy's eyelids closed slowly as Jasmine watched. To the young shifter, it felt like was wrapped in a warm blanket, safe from the world. Like when Doc was around, only the protection was less of the 'beat the crap out of 'em' kind and more...spiritual.
Jasmine smiled as the girl drifted of to a peaceful slumber. Now, all she had to do was watch.

(((Next morning)))
I was in the main Dojo area, ryunning through katas. Cooling off, mainly, though I was sorely tempted to go and beat the living hell out of that human amoeba that claimed to be Jessy's father.
"I just had a call," Mal said. "You're lawyers are looking into things."
"thanks, Mal," I said, not breaking my concentration. "How's Jessy?"
"She slept well," he answered. "I think being nearby helped."
"No one here's going let him get withing an inch of her," I said. "We'd all die before we let him take her."
"I know. I'm not inclined to let her go myself."
"I know, Mal," I whispered. "I know."

I woke up, feeling refreshed and calmer than I had last night. Walking downstairs in my pyjamas fwlt natural. Homey and comfy. I put on my dressing gown and slippers. "Hey Doc."
