I smiled at the Queen of shifters. "Very good. Now I beleive there is an escaped Slayer nearby." I was pale and many of my witches lay around me. But I knew how to go on. Joshua was gone and he WASN'T coming back.

((Er, Kar, I kinda just killed him))

[Joshua]

'That does it,' I thought from my new limbo prison, 'I'm pissed.'

Limbo or not, I knew how to get out of here.

"Mighty Kronos," I prayed, "King of the Titans and Father of the Gods, hear me."

A thunderclap and a zap and I had his attention. He appeared in the same form he had the last time he appeared to me. Of course then, I was in pain throes of death.

"What do you want kid?" he snapped, sounding bored and annoyed by me.

"Well, what would you want, if you were in this situation?" I asked.

He glared at me, and then finally seemed to look at me, realizing exactly what my situation was.

"Shit kid, and I thought you would stop getting into trouble like this once we got rid of your powers," he griped.

I gave the equivalent of a shrug. "We need Ate's help as it is. If you could just tell her . . ."

"Wait a sec," he stopped me. "You want me to get Ate's help? Not just free you so you can go take care of things yourself?"

"I learned my lesson Lord Kronos. If I ended up here, only being the support to help others, and yeah, I'll admit, I got a little hotheaded confronting Karen like that, but I know I can't do this lone wolf, and we need another heavy hitter. We need Ate's help. Trex too, but I doubt he'd help us."

Kronos sighed, weighed with the decision.

"I can get you out of this limbo, and restore your energy, and I will contact Ate and give her orders to help her friends. We've got a couple of apocalypse and Armageddons coming up, and some of us have bet on you and your friends kid. Unfortunately, we can't do much more than this."

"I know, I understand Lord Kronos," I humbly accepted.

Next thing I know, it's exactly one second after Pepper blind-sided me and I'm back at full-power.

First order of business, I blow up the creature's head, and then to kill it, I rip the heart out of the metamorphalogical body and send it to the same limbo she had sent me.

You come wit' me, Fait' goes free, and you're safe, under my protection. You don', there's nothing I can do to save you. Dose are are your choices, petite. You have my word."

"Oh, i'm touched." I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm. "You i would join you? You think thats even a question? 'just join us, kill a few friends, and alls good?' Fuck that." I snapped.
"Den Faithy stays, and you die." He replied. I glanced at FAith, crumpled on the floor, and my heart wrenched.
Suddenly i was remembering the first time we met... such a strange night.
My eyes fell upon a woman standing half way up the stairs to the exit, elbows leant on the banister, and dark eyes fixed on me. One side of her mouth quirk into a smile. She straightened, and made her way down the stairs.
I sent her a mental plea,
[Faith? can you hear me?]
She lead us in a close, rythmic dance... i knew it should feel wierd, but somehow it just didn't
[Please, Faith, answer me!] i begged, Francois smiling as he clearly knew what i was doing. But he could never know what was going through my mind.
She entwined our fingers from behind, moving her hand to press something into my palm, then she pulled away, cutting through the crowd to the door without a backward glance. I looked down at the piece of card Wanna understand the dreams?
I briefly closed my eyes, then opened them again, my gaze fixed on Francois, and my grip on the sword tightening.
"I'll never join you." I hissed. "An' y'know why?" I grinned nastily, "She'd only kick my ass if i did."

"C'mon Mai" I chimed in. "Why'r you always doing the good guy fight? You'r not much good at it. I mean, how would this have happened if you were" I questioned her mockingly.

((erm... Pep, i dont think you're there, are you? I thought it was just Maya and Francois, and some vamp guards he told to stand down... but erm... oh nevermind...))

I gritted my teeth, refusing to let the insults sting me.
"There really is no point." I said matter of factly, "See, i'd kill myslef after anyway."
Francois smiled nastily,
"You couldn't- you're not strong enough." He sneered.
"Try me." I snapped.

The waiting was killing me. It felt like forever that I had been watching, waiting for Maya, for someone to come out of the building. Something inside me was telling me to go in after her, to join the fight and repay Maya all the debt I owed her but another part of me was holding back. The part in love with the past, the part that would hurt beyond belief if it saw the monster he had become.
The battle raged inside me...'go help, don't put yourself through that, look out for number one, you owe it her, you should do this for Jessy, it'll be too painful to see him like that.'
"Screw it." I said finally, bringing a shutter down on the internal voices of logic. "I've gotta go." And I did. I walked right up to the door and braced myself for what I knew would probably be my last fight.

"Love the sentiments, Charlotte. Lousy idea going in there without a plan."

"Who's there?" Charlotte asked as the girl stepped forward, Doc's old Sabre in her hand.

"I'm Tash,' she said. "I'm Doc's sister."

"Aren't you dead?" She asked. Tash rolled her eyes.

"I get that a lot," Tash muttered. "Come on. We've got a plan, but I need you for it to work."

goddess, how hard would it be to actually get rid of this joshua? oh well...
i sent a hard blow of ice to work it's way inside the spirit's form. it would hurt him alright, even though he was just a spirit. this was a world of torture, and i had not even been forced to join the dark side.
