Maya had be breathing deeply, trying to regain control. It was going ok but any small noise that I didn't recognise and I would make involuntary movemnets to locate it and protect myself at the same time.
"That's good Charlie, keep breathing like that. In, out. Good." For a moment it reminded me of a few hours ago, being made to breathe in order to get Zoe out.
"Where's Zoe?" I asked blindly twisting my head.

"ok so we can go then?" I tried to stand up but weakly and slid ack to the floor. "Please lets go."
"ok." maya agreed. "Doc, Jessy go get the car ready, we'll be out in a minute." They left and Maya helped me to my feet, still shaking. She helped me finish getting ready, shoes and stuff and made me drink some water.

I put my arm around Charlie and lead her out to the car, thanking the midwife as we passed her in the hall. I sat her in the back of the car and place her child in her arms.

I was very controlled on the way to Maya's house. I didn't go above the sped limt. I was proud of myself.
