(The Spot)Surprise!!

[Maya]

"I'm fine." I said, though even i knew it sounded strained. "It's just... that time of the month, y'know?"
"Oh of course, cos that gives everyone schizophrenic taste buds." Charlie replied with a disbelieving look.
"I just like cheese!" I exclaimed as we got back to the main room.
"You just refused cheesy snacks and said 'ew'!" said Jessy, who'd clearly just overheard the last.
"I just didn't..."
"No." Said Charlie, "Dont you dare say you just didnt feel like them. Something is wrong, Mai, and i wanna know what."
"Nothing is wrong!" I said yet again.
"She's right, Maya." Doc put in as he, Belle and Nicki approached. "Something's been up for a while... we care about you- we wanna know whats going on."
"This is Charlie's birthday!" I said, trying a new angle, "We shouldn't be talking about..."
"Yeah, its my birthday." She interupted. "And i want to know whats happening."
I squeezed my eyes shut in frustration- it wasn't like they weren't gonna find out soon anyway... i just didnt know that i was ready yet. Everyone was watching us now, listening intently, as many of them had noticed my odd behaviour- from odd cravings to dressing in much baggier clothes. Josh came forward from the crowd, wrapping his arms around me, hands resting, as they usually did now, on my stomach.
[Do I tell them?] i asked him across our link.
[If you want to.] He replied
[But am I?]
I actually felt him smirk

[Thats not helpful.] i replied. In answer he squeezed me tighter and kissed my cheek.
[Whatever you choose, i'm behind you all the way.]
I bit my lip.
"You really want to know?" I said, to the whole group now.
"Yes!" Charlie and Doc chorused.
"Yeah." Jess said.
"Hell yes." Faith added, "I wanna know what the hell it is Will knows and i dont!"
"Willow knows?" Doc asked.
"I..." I spluttered, looking over at the red head, "I... maybe... but i didnt tell her! If she knows then she worked it out herself!"
"Whatever!" Nicki cried, "Just tell!"
I chuckled, then took a deep breath.
"Ok then... if you really really..."
"Just..."
"I am!" I cried at Faith. I glanced up at Josh, and began again. "I... we woulda told you soon anyway, but the thing is... what we've been hiding is..." I looked around at the group, and my hand unconsciously trailed to sit atop of Josh's on my stomach. "Josh and I..." I smiled nevously, "We're... well... we're gonna have a baby."


((hehe FINALLY!!! Been waiting to get that out soooo long!! Ooh, and josh has this thing where he reckons it would be interesting to ban the 'P' word... see what alternatives people can come up with... so, i mean, you dont have to stick to that, but it could be fun.))

I leapt forward, wrapped my arms around Maya and gave her a massive yet non crushing hug

'Ohmigosh sweetie! That is like the coolest... I can't believe how much has changed since I left! I mean you and Josh having a...' I broke off and slowly looked over at Joshua 'Woah! Why are you here? You're not supposed to be here! I was like at your funeral. Standing in front of grave. Meeting Avalon who had you in her sword thing... What the hell?'

[Maya]

I grinned, "Ritual, goddess, good as new boyfriend." I summarised happily- maybe they weren't all gonna freak as much as i expected them too...

;D "Congrats!" I said just a little sadly.

This always happened to me when some was... well, preggers, 'cause I couldn't be. My montly tranformations were too volent for me to ever have children. But I wouldn't let my depression ruin this moment, so I went up and gave Mai a hug too.

"Do you know what it is? Boy or girl?"

"Ohmigod, that is sooooo cool" I squealed...

[Charlotte]

I didn't squeal like the rest of them. I mean I was happy for them...wasn't I? It would change everything so much though. Did they know how much? She was only nineteen, one year older than me. i looked at Doc then coloured.
"So you...I mean you guys...you..." I couldn't make myself say it but Maya got my drift.

[Tyrial]

"Well, it's been nice knowing you all, but I gotta go, enjoy the party, here's a present, bye!" I said to everyone, a smile on my face. A wrapped up box appeared on my hand, I put it on the bench then disappeared in a cloud of green gas.

'A baby!' I thought as I reappeared in a crypt, out in the graveyard, 'this could make things interesting!'

I magically opened a secret door, into a room that was practically empty. All there were was a table, with potions and scrolls. A few other ingredients were also sitting idally on top of it.

I sat down on a stool, 'I could do something with this!' I thought happily, looking at the things lying around, 'all I have to do now, is not to raise suspicion!'

I grabbed a few things, then disappeared again, sealing the room.

"Gifts! My favorite part of a party. Here ya go!"

I handed her a box wrapped in Harry Potter gift wrap, little snitches and brooms zooming around. I had enchanted the papper so the little drawings actually did zoom around the box in dizzying patterns. It was a pretty good little charm.

Inside was a small crystal unicorn that changed color everytime you looked at it. I had found it on my trip back to Irland, and when I heard about the party, it just made me think of Doc's new sweety.

"Hope you like it, Lass."

[Jackson ''Doc'' Ellison]

"That's what it was," I chuckled, hugging the girl as close a my sister. "You actually had me worried there."

"Sorry," she mumbled.

"Ah, don't worry about," I said. "Congratulations."

Then I turned to Joshua. I think he knew what was coming.

"After the party, you have some explaining to do," I've said it before, I'm an overprotective big brother, so what?

Walked back to Charlotte as she was opening Belle's present, placing my hand in my pocket. I'd give it to her soon.

((I don't want to have been there all along so I'm gonna walk in now.))

I walked into the spot and looked around, wow a party, how come I wasn't invited? I saw Doc and a few other people talking, I walked over, "If you didn't want me around you could have just asked you know," I said, then I noticed a face I hadn't seen in a while, "Niki, your back!"

[Jackson ''Doc'' Ellison]

"I did send the invite," I said distractedly. "Charlotte?" I pulled the necklace out of my pocket. on the chain was an amulet, set with three stones. "It's taken me ages to dig it up from the vault. The three stones..." I paused as a stood behind her."Obsdian for protection, Tiger's eye for strength and Dalmation Jasper for loyalty," I did the clasp, then moved back to face her. Reaching into my shirt, I pulled out the amulet Maya had given me.

Next to it was one matching the one I had just given her.

"No one will come between us, Charlie," I promised. "Happy birthday."

"I never got it," I said, "So can I come to the party?"

[Charlotte]

"Of course." I said still completely bowled over. I had never known such generous people. In fact I had never known such a wonderful birthday surprise. When I was little I'd had huge birthday parties, too grand for a little kid but then it was mostly an excuse for the council to gather and shock horror have some fun. It had been years though since I'd been with so many friends on my birthday.
"Thank you" I whispered looking down at my hands which could barely hold all the mystical gifts and up at Doc, still holding the matching amulets. "Could you...?" I turned around and he put the necklace around my neck where it hung comfortably, more than comfortably, where it felt like a part of me.

"Okay present, present," Said as emptyed out my pockets, suddenly my hands burst into flame, a second later the fire died down and in it's place was a bracelet ((Did I spell that right?)) that had a really shiny and deep ruby, "For you," I said as I offered it to Charlotte.
